About us We are a quality Radio 2 Style Mobile Disco based in the New Forest serving Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, Devon and Cornwall, Our Fees Start at Just £180.00 Plus travel please see our Price Guide for full details. We are available for 20s 30s 40s 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s Themed Nights, 40 Plus Birthdays, Anniversaries, Weddings, Golden Oldie Nights, Christmas, Corporate Events and Quiz Nights. We are also available weekday afternoons in the New Forest area for Strict Tempo Ball Room and Tea Dances. Covering all populer music from the 1920s to this weeks top twenty! We cover all music from Jazz, Swing, Jive, Rock & Roll, Country, Rhythm & Blues and Reggae.including the best of the 50s, 60s,through to the Golden Disco era of the 1970s and 1980s.In fact we cater for all popular music from the 1920s to the present day charts! The Swing Jive Disco is aimed at those that enjoy a broad taste of music. We are The ideal choice for the more senior birthday and anniversary celebrations. We can include modern music with the older music memories are made of. This ability is what we believe elevates us from the rest. Our audience inevitably go home having danced to and relived some musical memories. Please Note We do not cater for the current trend towards Night Club, Rave,Trance or Garage type of music.
Planning your event is important let us help When you contact us we will always ask you about the expected numbers and the age range of guests expected. We also ask about musical preferences along with any styles of music or songs that you would not like included. We do offer a playlist service where you can choose a number of songs that you would like to have included. If you wish you may choose the entire playlist, however experience has taught us this is often inadvisable as your guests may not always share the same taste in music. Speeches Guests Buffet and other Ceremonies We are keen to know of any scheduled breaks planned during the course of the evening such as speeches, buffet, cutting of cake, etc.during the planning process so that we can plan the music around them. We have found on occasion that if we are asked without warning to suddenly halt the music with a full dance floor it can take time to build up again. If we have prior notice we can minimise the effect by keeping your guests informed about any special breaks well in advance.. Age Groups and Music Choice Different functions require different approaches, events that are attended by mainly one age group will often have different music requirements,to keep an active dance floor than a wedding or anniversary would have. Family events often have age groups ranging from young children through to the 90+ age group. At such occasions it is essential to plan the evening around your guests enjoyment. A good selection of music from across the years delivered in the right order will maintain a great atmosphere and dance floor. Sound Levels Sound volume levels are very important, when your guests first arrive they will often not been together for some time and wish to catch up on the latest family and friend news. If the music is to loud at this stage we would expect complaints, we find that our job at the early stage is to start of with a selection of easy listening music to enhance the atmosphere but allow everyone to talk and be heard. Through the evening you often wont notice but the sound level is increased as the tempo of the music is increased to encourage people up onto the dance floor. Requests We are always pleased to accept requests for songs during a function, any requests will be played at an appropriate time, if a requested song is not suitable to be included at short notice because in our opinion it might significantly effect a busy dance floor we will try to include it at a more suitable time. Offensive and Bad Language songs. We will under no circumstances play any audio recordings with offensive content or swearing. Information for planning a themed event 1950s For a tribute to 1950s we suggest a Grease Themed evening, although the film 'Grease' was released during 1978 the actual year it depicts is 1958. Due to the music from the film being still very popular today, we have found that a theme based on the 1950s, is enhanced by integrating the decades original music with music and Fancy Dress costume from Grease. Guaranteed to be a hit! 1960s The decade that arguably saw the greatest development of music, such a choice of music, and we have it all, from the Fab Four, The Doors, The Rolling Stones to the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band and Clinton Ford etc. We bring all the best of the sixties together under The Swinging Sixties theme. If however you would prefer us to concentrate on a particular musical direction within the sixties let us know and we will fully research it and present a unique themed evening just for you. 1970s The Golden Seventies, to many people, the Seventies will be most remembered for the rise in disco music. First creeping into dance clubs in the mid-seventies (with such hits as "The Hustle" by Van McCoy), songstresses like Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, Dalida and Anita Ward popularized the genre and were described in subsequent decades as the "disco divas." Abba first found fame when they won the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest. They became one of the most widely known European groups ever, and were the decade's biggest sellers. "Waterloo" and "Dancing Queen" are two of ABBA's most popular songs. The Village People scored a Top Ten hit with "Y.M.C.A." and the Bee Gees had a string of #1s following their collaboration on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack in 1977. The Following year the film Grease arrived in the Cinema.
